Pick a file from your computer and send it via a link in a e-mailed delivery memo.

When the file is picked up the site secretary will receive a memo from the admin system with the time, date and IP information of the receipient.

Large files may take a while to upload, be patient!

 

Page Counts
 

You can view the counter values for the pages in your site that have the counter functionality installed.

The reset prior button will reset the prior count numbers so that you can see how many hits have occured since your last reset.

 

Top Downloads
 

You can track downloads that are funneled through the download_asset.php page.

This will list the assets and their download counts.

 

Table Home
 

Allows selection of tables for viewing or export.

Select the table from the list and hit View.

Only Super Users can view the UserInfo table which contains Super User logon information.

 

Main Admin Menu
 

From this menu you can perform the basic admin functions.

Super Users can create new users and view the Users table data and change all end user data.

Admin users can do everything but the Super User tasks.

To moderate blogs select the blog you want from the combo box and hit go, this will take you to the blog admin menu.

To moderate galleries select the gallery you want from the combo box and hit go, this will take you to the gallery admin menu.

Admin users can view all table data except the users table by selecting the table to view from the combo box and hitting the View button.

Each page has a help entry that details the operation of that specific page.

 

Bulk Mail Console
 

Allows the sending of bulk e-mail in a metered fashion. The metering allows the mailing of a given number of messages per execution until the entire list has been mailed.

As the mailing is executed the addresses are assigned a unique ID for the mailing making it impossible to double mail your list.

Number to Send:

How many messages to send per execution.

If you are flying under a 200 mail per hour limit leaving your browser on this page and hitting the button every hour will send until the list is done.

It is recommended the site owners work with their ISP's legal department to get mailing limits lifted for their account.

From Address: The from address for the site.
From Name: The from name for the site.
Write Enabled: When set to No the transmitter will make a dry run and issue a receipt for what message would have been sent.
Database:

Set to Test to mail to the test mailing list.

Set to Live and it will send to the Live mailing list

Mailing ID:

A mailing ID one will be generated automaticallywhen you preview or send a message.

DO NOT change this ID until you have completed the entire mailing. The ID is added to each address after it is mailed.

This allows the mail transmitter to recover from server timeouts and other errors and it ensures that no address gets double mailed in a mailing.

Message File Name:

If you are uploading a file leave this blank and it will be filled out properly after the message file has been uploaded.

Message File Upload:

Browse to the file that you want to upload on your computer.

It will be uploaded to your mailings directory and will appear in the Message File Name filed on return to this page.

A message file is a properly formatted HTML file and can include the full range of HTML entities, images links etc...

Mail To:

Your mailing list definitions will appear here. Select the list(s) to which you would like to send mail.

If someone is subscribed to several lists they will only receive one piece of mail.

 

The preview button allows you to preview your message.

The send button invokes the transmitter with will either send the mail or do a dry run based on the Write Enable setting.

 


Subject: The subject line for the e-mail.

 

 

Preview Message
 

This page will display the message file for you to approve. Do this before sending message and check the links and references in the message template.

You need to have your test email address in both the Test and Live databases for a test of the unsub to be successful. A address not found error will be produced if the Test address is not in the Live database which is referenced by the subscription modification dialog.

When done press the Return to Mailer Console button to return the the console.

 

Mail Transmitter
 

This dialog shows the result of amailing operation.

Try a mailing with write protect on to see what will happen, no mail will be sent but a receipt will be produced. This allows you a dry run.

Send the mailing to your test list several times and check all the links before sending it to all your customers.

The receipt includes the run time so that you can meter your CGI mail output if necessary to avoid mailing per-hour limits.

The transmitter marks each address that is mailed with the Mailing ID. This allows it to keep sending at the preset rate until the enitre list has been processed.

Do not leave the transmitter - console - preview pages while sending, this will avoid you losing your mailing ID.

 

Mailing List Edit

 

Mailing List Selection

This dialog defaults to the Live mailing list. There is no need to hit the Set button if you want to edit the live database.

To edit the test mailing list make the selection from the pull down menu and hit the Set button.

Address Selection

Pick an email address to edit from the pull down list and hit the Go button.

That address's record is displayed ready for editing.

When you are done making changes hit the Modify button to save your work.

 

Mailing List Add
 

Set the table to the database to which you would like to add by selecting the mailing list name, Live or Test from the pull down menu at the top..

Enter the information.

The minimum is:

  • E-Mail address
  • 1 Mailing list

A friendly password will be supplied. This can be accepted or changed. Friendly passwords have a random number at the start or end and a word that can be customized to the subject of the site via local_info.

When you have entered the information hit the Add Address button to save the entry.

The dialog will return from adding the address with the fields clear, ready to enter another address.

 

Mailing List Delete
 

This allows the quick deletion of bounced addresses from the mailing list. With any mailing list a certain number of addresses will go stale (undeliverable). Save the bounced emails and use the dialog to delete the stale addresses.

There is a warning after you hit delete that lists the addresses to be deleted.

Check the boxes of the records to be deleted hit the button, say yes and they are gone...

 

New Admin User
 

This is available to Super Users only.

Allows the creation of an Administrative user account.

Fill out all the fields and set the Rights to Admin or Super User. Super Users can create new users and view all the sites data tables.

A welcome message with the details of the account will be sent to the users email address.

 

New Blog or Gallery User
 

Allows the creation of a limited rights account for blogs and galleries.

There are two levels of rights for these users, contributor and moderator.

Contributors can see, edit and delete only their own posts or pictures. This is for the general public or clients that you allow to post on your site.

Moderators can see, edit and delete any posts or pictures in the collection. Only a trusted user should be given this privlege.

Fill out all the fields and check the blogs or galleries into which the user will be given rights.

A welcome message with the details of the account will be sent to the users address.

 

New Gallery
 

Allows the creation of a gallery.

Select a moderator or take the the default. The system has a default account for moderation, Joe Moderator, User ID moderator.

Give the gallery a name, this name will appear in the Admin menu and in the users log in process.

Set the Gallery Type to be For Sale or Not For Sale..

No two galleries can have the same name.

This will create a user account and the necessary directories on the server so it is ready to be loaded.

The gallery will not be displayed to the public until it is set to show in Show or Hide Galleries and then only if the site has a Gallery Lobby page that shows all visible galleries.

Although a new gallery is not visible to the public it can be edited and viewed by its users simply by logging in at the system login portal.

The gallery will appear in the admin section right away ready for editing.

A welcome message with the details of the gallery will be sent to the moderators address.

 

Edit or Delete User
 

Allows the modification or deletion of user accounts.

Select a user from the pull down menu and hit the View button.

The dialog will display the user info and rights with a Modify and Delete button.

If you want to add to or subtract from a blog or gallery rights package this is where to that operation is performed.

There are two levels of rights for these users, contributor and moderator.

New Blog
 

Creates the necessary tables and header entries for a blog.

Select a moderator or take the the default. The system has a default account for moderation, Joe Moderator, User ID moderator.

Give the blog a title, this title will appear in the Admin menu and in the users log in process. \No two blogs can have the same title.

Select a type:

LIFO - Regular is a Last In First Out blog where the most recent post appears at the top of the scroll.

CALENDAR - This blog ahs a date and time in the blog editor and is sorted in date order.

ORDERED - Random - This blog is for sidebar ads and allows certain posts to be pinned to the top positions while the rest of the list is displaied in random order.

MUSIC - This is a LIFO blog that is prepared to upload MP3 files for sharing. The blog post editor will construct an appropriate type of link to do a metered play or download. The download count can be monitored through the Top Downloads page.

Create Links (Y/N) If a links table is desired set this to Yes. The moderator will then get access to the links editor on their blog editor home page.

The blog will not be displayed to the public until the blog API is used by the web programmer to display the newly created blog on a page of the site.

Although a new blog is not visible to the public it can be edited and viewed by its users simply by logging in at the system login portal.

The blog will appear in the admin section right away ready for editing.

A welcome message with the details of the blog will be sent to the moderators address.

 

New Election
 

Creates a new election table.

The election ID should not contain spaces or punctuation marks.

VotePerPiece: In this type of election a given IP address can vote on many pieces but only once per piece. This is like the ranking stars in the galleries.

VotePerIP: A given IP address can only vote once as in the case of a user poll.

The election will have to be implemented by the web programmer to be publicaly visible.

 

New Password Target
 

Creates a new password target page.

The password portal can be invoked in Target mode. In this mode it will look at the login information and select the appropriate pre-programmed target page.

This can be used to create custom delivery areas.

Target Page Name: The filename of the target page. i.e. client_deliveries.html

Target Gallery: The ID of the target gallery.

Mode: Page or Gallery.

There are two modes for this system. In gallery mode it will point the user at a gallery that may be hidden from public view. In page mode it will point the user at the given page.

User ID: The user ID for guests to log on.

Password: The password for guests to log on.

This does not create users rights or accounts nor will it allow guests to edit the gallery or target page.

 

Resend User Information
 

This allows you to view a users information and to send them their information easily.

Select a user from the pull down menu and hit the View button.

The users information will be displayed.

If you wnat to send them the information hit the Resend Settings button at the bottom and the system will resend the welcome message with their user ID and password.

 

Gallery Show or Hide
 

This sets the visibility of the galleries.

If a gallery is hidden it will not be displayed in the sites gallery lobby but it is available for editing and viewing via the admin interface.

This allows a gallery to be hidden from the public while it is under construction.

The galleries are displayed in two columns, Visible and Hidden.

Click on a gallery to toggle its state from Visible to Hidden.

Galleries that contain no images will be screened out of the list as you can not show a gallery that contains no images.

If these are screened out a message will be displayed to let you know how many galleries have been screened.

 

Show Table
 

Admin users can view all table data except the UserInfo table by selecting the table to view from the combo box and hitting the View button.

To export textual data make a selection by click dragging from the upper left table item to the lower right. All of the data in the table should appear as selected.

Open an Excel spreadsheet and place the cursor in the upper left corner and paste. The data will be transfered to the spreadsheet.

Only Super users can view the UserInfo table.
